Claritek 250mg Tablet is an antibiotic medication and is used to treat bacterial infections which cause pneumonia, bronchitis and infections of the throat, nose and urinary tract. Each tablet of Claritek 250mg contains the active ingredient Clarithromycin, which is a macrolide antibiotic.

How effective is Claritek 250mg?

Claritek 250mg Tablet is used to treat certain bacterial infections such as pneumonia which is a lung infection and bronchitis, which is an infection of the airways leading to the lungs. Its use is indicated for the treatment of pharyngitis, tonsillitis, acute otitis media, leprosy, and soft tissue infections. Claritek 250mg works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, stopping their growth in the body so that the bacteria cannot reproduce and cause further infection.

What dose should I choose?

In adults and children over the age of 12 years, the usual dose is 1 tablet (250 mg) taken orally twice per day. For more severe infections, 2 tablets (500 mg) can be taken orally twice per day.

If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the already missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
