Entox P is a drug used for the treatment of diarrhoea and relief of abdominal cramps, heartburn and nausea.
How effective is Entox P?
Entox P is very effective in treating diarrhoea. It is an absorbent oral drug containing the active ingredient Attapulgite. It works by binding with a large number of bacteria and toxins and eliminates them through defecation. This drug also reduces the water loss during diarrhoea and improves the consistency of loose stool. Entox P also relieves stomach cramping, a common symptom of diarrhoea.
What dose should I choose?
The dose for adults is 2 tablets after every bowel movement with a daily dose not exceeding 12 tablets in 24 hours.
The dose for children is 1 tablet after every bowel movement with a daily dose not exceeding 8 tablets in 24 hours.
What are the side-effects and other warnings when taking Entox P?
Although most individuals do not experience any side-effects with Entox P and some side-effects may disappear as the body adjusts to the drug. Side effects may include:
If you are allergic to the active ingredient Attapulgite, talk to your doctor before using this drug. Symptoms of an allergy include:
- Tightness in the chest
- Difficulty breathing
- Swelling of the mouth, lips, etc.
Discontinue the use and inform your doctor if you experience an allergic reaction.
